Kittery native Bob Kraft first opened Bob’s Clam Hut on an unused stretch of his parent’s backyard adjacent to the Spruce Creek clam flats in 1956. Long before busy Route One became bustling and busy with Kittery's outlet shops, Bob’s was the locals' golden fried standard: a clam (and lobster roll) lover’s Mecca.
We hear it from our guests: no trip to Maine is complete without a meal at Bob's Clam Hut. Come early (in summer to miss the throngs) and often to Bob’s original Kittery location, a right of passage for summer in Maine and New England. There’s something in the water at this place that keeps the food incredible, the staff uncontrollably happy and upbeat and the joy continuing to spread since.
